Bio
La Cobriza is a professional Flamenco dancer and choreographer working internationally and across cultures. Rooted in Flamenco, and in constant transformation, her artistic practice explores movement, rhythm, presence and the emotional depth of the body. She creates her own works where the structures and language of Flamenco meet new influences, sounds and perspectives. Her work grows through intercultural encounters, particularly through collaborations with musicians and artists from Korea and Europe, as well as with jazz musicians and classical piano. Rather than treating tradition as something fixed, she approaches Flamenco as a living language — a foundation from which new movement possibilities can emerge. La Cobriza trained for many years at Amor de Dios Centro de Arte Flamenco y Danza Española in Madrid, one of Spain’s most important centers for Flamenco. Her artistic journey has taken her between Europe and Asia, with a particular focus on developing her own choreographic work and creating spaces for dialogue between different artistic traditions. Her current work is driven by questions of transformation, transition, connection and self-expression — always searching for what can emerge when different rhythms, cultures and bodies meet. Flamenco as a route. Transformation as a way forward.
