Research
Where different rhythmic languages meet, new movement becomes possible. My research begins with Flamenco as my grammar — its compás, structures, accents, repetition, silence and physicality. From this foundation, I explore how movement changes when different rhythmic systems, musical traditions and cultural perspectives encounter one another. A central part of my current research is the dialogue between Flamenco compás and Korean traditional rhythm. I am interested not in simply combining two forms, but in listening to their differences: how they organize time, create tension and release, hold silence, and shape the body. Through this process, I search for new movement possibilities while remaining connected to the depth and identity of Flamenco. Research is a space of listening, questioning and transformation.
